Temperament
Staffordshire Bull Terriers are known for their loyal and affectionate nature. We prioritize breeding dogs with stable and friendly temperaments, and socialize our puppies from a young age to help them become well-adjusted and confident adult Staffies.
Expertise
We have a great understanding of our breed, its history, and its characteristics. With over 20 years experience with our breed rest assured that we have the proper knowledge and experience to offer guidance and support to our puppy buyers.
Ethics
Our dogs are like our family. Camping, hiking, family vacations, we take our dogs everywhere with us. We will always prioritize the welfare of our dogs over any type of profit. Please see our photos and ask any questions about our breed and our breeding practices.
Proper Breeding
Staffordshire Bull Terriers were originally bred for bull-baiting, and then for fighting. However, today the breed is primarily kept as a companion animal. Breeding for function and form is just as important as breeding for a temperament that is suitable for life as a family pet.
Support
We provide ongoing support to puppy buyers, including advice on training, nutrition, and health care. Being a responsible breeder is not just about producing puppies, but also about ensuring the health and well-being of the breed.
About The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Breed
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, sometimes referred to as “Staffy,” is a breed of dog that originated in England in the 19th century. The Staffy was created by breeding bulldogs and terriers for use in the sport of bull-baiting, which was banned in England in 1835. The breed was then used in illegal dogfighting, but eventually became popular as a family animal due to its loyalty, intelligence, and affectionate nature. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a medium-sized, muscular, athletic dog with a short, smooth coat that can come in a variety of colors. Despite its fighting past, the breed is known for its love of children and its gentle nature with people.

What Makes A Staffordshire Bull Terrier Champion?
1. Breed Standards
There are breed standards set by kennel clubs such as the American Kennel Club (AKC) that Staffordshire Bull Terriers must conform to. These standards outline the ideal characteristics, structure, and appearance of the breed. These factors include size, proportions, head shape, coat color, and temperament.
2. Structure
Staffordshire Bull Terriers should have a well-balanced, muscular build with a deep chest and strong bone structure. Their head should be broad and deep with defined cheek muscles and a short foreface. Their ears should be rose-shaped or half-pricked. An ideal Staffy body should be compact and muscular, with a level topline and sprung ribs. The tail should be not too long or short.
3. Conformation Shows
A lot of time and effort goes into attending dog shows to showcase our breed. Judges evaluate various aspects, such as the dog’s structure, movement, overall balance, and temperament. Points are awarded for various achievements, such as winning Best of Breed or Best in Group against other staffords. Accumulating a certain number of points and wins is necessary to earn specific titles, such as Champion, Grand Champion, or International Champion.
4. Training and Obedience
Champion Staffies undergo extensive training to learn proper behavior, commands, and socialization skills. Proper obedience and responding promptly to their owner’s commands is important.
5. Temperament and Behavior
Staffordshire Bull Terriers are known for their friendly, affectionate, and courageous nature. They should display confidence, be outgoing, and show no signs of aggression or shyness. A champion Staffie should have an excellent temperament and be well-socialized, displaying good behavior both in and out of the show ring.
6. Health and Genetics
A champion Staffordshire Bull Terrier should be healthy and free from any significant hereditary health issues. Responsible breeders perform health screenings and tests to ensure their dogs are free from common Staffordshire Bull Terrier health conditions, such as hip dysplasia, cataracts, and diseases.
